KYOCERA to exhibit Amcenna IoT antenna at ShowStoppers @ CES 2019 in Las Vegas

Innovative technology with a wide range of applications, including automotive, wearables, and smart factories, brings to life a futuristic IoT society

Kyocera Corporation will be exhibiting its Amcenna IoT antenna at ShowStoppers @ CES 2019 on January 8, 2019 in Las Vegas. ShowStoppers @ CES is a unique event for journalists, analysts, and influencers that provides opportunities to demo the latest products and technologies from companies around the world. Kyocera’s compact Amcenna solves the performance challenges which arise when antennas are mounted on metals or near water, allowing IoT devices to be installed in a wide range of applications including automotive, wearables, and smart factories. Kyocera will showcase several demos, including a comparison of signal strength between an Amcenna wireless module and a traditional antenna wireless module on a metal, and a beer glass with an Amcenna sensor module on the bottom to inform restaurant staff of the best time for a drink refill. Through these Amcenna demos Kyocera offers an opportunity to experience a futuristic IoT society.

Kyocera’s Amcenna Technology Innovation

To create Amcenna, Kyocera miniaturized an Artificial Magnetic Conductor (AMC) and integrated an antenna function into the AMC itself. The result is an exceptionally thin, compact antenna that can operate in close proximity to metals or water without performance decline. The Amcenna technology received Japan’s Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications Award during the CEATEC JAPAN 2018 ― one of Asia’s largest IT and electronics tradeshows.
