With the European Union mandating a shift to USB-C, manufacturers are updating their electronics designs to move away from older standards, like USB-A, micro-USB, Lightning, etc.

However, in the case of wireless receivers, commonly used for keyboards and mice, there is a challenge. The problem is that wireless receivers made with USB-A can be made to protrude only slightly from a laptop USB port, but most manufacturers have not figured out how to do that with a USB-C wireless receiver. As a result, most USB-C wireless receivers, while meeting the EU regulatory goals, fail to keep the same beautiful slim profile that the previous USB-A wireless receivers had.

Matias, a Canadian company exhibiting at ShowStoppers in Berlin September 2024 (as well as having at booth at IFA Berlin: Stand 11.2-224), has a patent-pending solution … the Matias USB-C Nano Receiver … that achieves both the EU’s regulatory goals while having a beautiful slim profile. Take a look when you come to visit in Berlin.
