The camera uses edge AI to detect human movement and is intelligent enough to discern between a person approaching the home versus a car or dog. When a person is detected, the service then uses AI to determine if the person matches a “familiar face” profile saved to a customer’s account. This is sent to a SimpliSafe security agent for verification and if the indivudal is not recognized, the agent can intervene using two-way audio, trigger the camera’s siren, and even request police dispatch while capturing video evidence.

Data remains protected, with agents only reviewing recordings and familiar faces when the system is armed and a threat is detected. All data is securely encrypted, and customers can manage privacy through the SimpliSafe App.
