This patented “AudibleWave Technology” from SoundFun approaches a speaker that allows the people who have hearing loss, keeping people with normal hearing comfortable with normal volume. Specifically, there are three innovative ideas as follows:

Composite Speaker System Using Curved Diaphragm:
The patented technology includes a hollow structure housing, an actuator, and a curved diaphragm, and proposes a speaker that transmits the vibration of the drive unit to the edge of the curved diaphragm to radiate sound, making it easy to hear for people who have the hearing-loss.

Shared Use of Actuator Unit:
The number of components of unit have been minimized, using only one actuator unit to vibrate both a cone-shaped diaphragm and a curved shaped diaphragm efficiently. This minimizes the manufacturing cost and weight, and realizes a compact hybrid speaker system.

Combination with Dynamic Speaker Unit:
To complement the low-frequency reproduction capability, in addition to the curved shaped diaphragm speaker unit, it is considered to install a dynamic speaker unit equipped with a cone-shaped diaphragm, and to drive and radiate sound from both speaker units. This corrects the sound quality of the curved shaped diaphragm with the sound radiation of the cone-shaped diaphragm, enabling reproduction over a broader frequency especially lower frequency.
